Turkish interpreters and translation services.
Turkish is the official language of Türkiye and, with Greek, of the Republic of Cyprus. California and New York have the largest Turkey-born populations of any state, and Los Angeles County has one of the largest of any U.S. county, according to the Census Bureau's 2020-2024 American Community Survey. AMS supplies Turkish interpreters for depositions, attorney-client meetings, arbitrations, and IMEs, in person in Los Angeles and the Bay Area and remotely by Zoom or phone, plus Turkish document translation. Turkish is not one of California's certified court languages, so tell us about the proceeding and we will match a qualified interpreter.

Built around legal work
Most of AMS's Turkish assignments are depositions, with attorney-client meetings, arbitrations, hearings, and IMEs, for law firms and court reporting firms.
Turkish names in the record
Turkish letters such as ı, ğ, and ş change how a name is spelled. Send witness names as written in Turkish with your request so the interpreter and court reporter can get them right.

Turkish interpreting questions, answered
Does California certify Turkish court interpreters?
No. Turkish is not on the Judicial Council of California's list of certified spoken languages. The Judicial Council lists Turkish among its registered languages, which have an oral proficiency exam in the language. AMS supplies qualified Turkish interpreters; ask about a specific interpreter's credentials when you request a quote.
Does AMS provide Turkish interpreters for depositions and arbitrations?
Yes. Depositions are most of AMS's Turkish work, along with attorney-client meetings, arbitrations and hearings, and IMEs, in person in Los Angeles and the Bay Area and remotely by Zoom or phone.
Is there a federal court certification for Turkish?
No. The federal courts' interpreter certification program covers Spanish; the programs for Navajo and Haitian Creole are no longer offered. Federal courts use professionally qualified or language-skilled interpreters for Turkish.
Does AMS translate Turkish documents?
Yes. AMS translates Turkish documents for litigation, USCIS filings, and the courts, with the translator's certification statement those filings require.
