Language Specialty

Arabic interpreters and translation services.

Arabic is one of the most linguistically diverse interpretation languages, with regional varieties (Egyptian, Levantine, Iraqi, Gulf, Maghrebi) that can differ substantially. AMS supplies California court-certified Arabic interpreters trained to work between Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and the witness's spoken variety, plus qualified translators for documents in any Arabic-language jurisdiction.

Arabic varieties and dialects we handle

Modern Standard Arabic (MSA / Fusha)

The formal written and broadcast standard, taught throughout the Arab world. The standard used in court interpretation and document translation.

Egyptian Arabic

The most widely-understood spoken variety across the Arab world because of Egyptian media reach. Common with Egyptian-American clients.

Levantine Arabic

Spoken in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Distinct from MSA in phonology and everyday vocabulary. Common with Syrian-American and Lebanese-American clients.

Iraqi Arabic

Distinct vocabulary and phonology. Important for asylum and humanitarian-parole work involving Iraqi clients.

Gulf Arabic

Spoken in the GCC states (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman). Less common in U.S. legal-medical work but present in business contexts.

Maghrebi Arabic

Spoken in North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya). Substantially different from Middle Eastern varieties; not always mutually intelligible without bridging through MSA.

Arabic interpreting questions, answered

Does AMS supply California court-certified Arabic interpreters?

Yes. The California Court Interpreter Program certifies Arabic court interpreters. AMS supplies certified Arabic interpreters in LA, the Bay Area, and Las Vegas.

Does Arabic variety matching matter for interpretation?

Often, yes. A qualified Arabic interpreter works between MSA and the witness's spoken variety. For witnesses from particular regions (Iraq, Morocco, Algeria), matching to a variety-experienced interpreter improves accuracy. Tell the dispatcher the witness's country of origin.

How fast can AMS schedule an Arabic interpreter?

Availability depends on language, location, and timing. Call our office at (800) 919-2029 and we will confirm what is available for your date.

Can AMS translate Arabic documents for USCIS?

Yes. Arabic birth certificates, marriage certificates, military discharge documents, and academic credentials are routinely translated. AMS handles all national varieties and both right-to-left script and the modern reformed printing.

Does AMS coordinate Arabic medical interpreting?

Yes. Arabic medical interpretation for IMEs, AME and QME panels, hospital encounters, and telehealth is routine across California and Nevada.

Are Arabic interpreters available for federal court and asylum matters?

Yes. Arabic federal court interpretation uses professionally-qualified interpreters (federal FCICE does not cover Arabic). AMS supplies federally-experienced Arabic interpreters for U.S. District Court and U.S. Immigration Court.
