Interpretation during voir dire when non-English-speaking jurors or witnesses are involved. Less common but routinely handled.

Interpretation of daily trial transcripts for non-English-speaking parties and witnesses, scheduled around the trial day.

Certified translation of foreign-language exhibits for use at trial. Coordinated with the trial interpreter to maintain terminology consistency.

Can the same interpreter do witness prep and trial?
Yes, where scheduling permits. Continuity from prep through trial improves accuracy and witness comfort. We schedule the same interpreter for prep and trial when possible.
What is the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpretation at trial?
Simultaneous interpretation is rendered in real time, typically through equipment for the non-English-speaking party who is following along. Consecutive interpretation pauses after each utterance for the interpreter to render. Trials typically use consecutive for witness testimony (clean record) and simultaneous for the rest (efficient for non-English-speaking parties to follow proceedings).
What if an interpreter falls ill mid-trial?
AMS maintains backup capacity for trials and routine languages. Same-day replacement is the standard practice. For rare languages, replacement may require remote interpretation; we coordinate immediately.
Can AMS supply simultaneous interpretation equipment for trial?
Yes. Wireless headsets and transmitters for non-English-speaking parties to follow proceedings simultaneously. Equipment delivered, set up, and tested before the trial day.
What does a multi-day trial interpreter team cost?
